Accessibility

We have tried to make the Wedgwood Visitor Centre as accessible for as many visitors as possible and hope to provide an interesting and enjoyable visit for all.

The facilities are self guided to allow for guests to take their visit here at their own pace.

Parking:
Our visitor car park is less than a minute’s walk to the site and is all on one level. There is clearly marked ‘Disabled Parking’.

Drop-off Point:
There is no drop-off point given the very close proximity of the main car parking area.

Wheelchairs:
There are several wheelchairs available for use from the Boutique area of the Visitor Centre (adjacent to the main toilet block). Chairs are available on a ‘first come first served’ basis and no reservations are possible. Additional wheelchairs are available within the Wedgwood Museum.

Electric Mobility Vehicles:
No electric vehicles are provided but access is allowed in all areas that are suitable. Visitors using electric vehicles are asked to take care and drive with caution. Whilst on such vehicles visitors are responsible for their own safety and must wear appropriate safety equipment and seat belts if fitted.

Toilets:
There are unisex disabled facilities situated at the main toilet block within the Visitor Centre. The disabled toilet has an alarm cord that can be activated in an emergency.

Carers:
Essential carers are admitted free of charge with the purchase of a single adult or child ticket.

Assistance Dogs:
Welcome in all areas. We can provide water for dogs … there is usually a bowl of water for them outside the main doors to the restaurant.

Access to the Factory Tour:
Due to the nature of our tour taking place around a busy working factory, wheelchairs cannot be used on the factory tour. The Factory Tour takes approximately 45 minutes. For those who have difficulty in walking, the route around the factory is all on one level but there is no seating available along the route of the tour and there are approximately 3 steps at the end of the tour.

Hearing Impaired Visitors:
Induction loops are fitted in the main reception area (located within the Wedgwood Museum), and the education suite and key areas in the Wedgwood Museum galleries. Please switch your hearing aid to the ‘T' position.

Visually Impaired:
No additional facilities are currently available.
